'Small shirt tax': Lula reaches agreement with Congress to vote on decree next week

President Lula reached an agreement with Congress to vote next Wednesday (2) on the provisional measure regarding the so-called "low-value import tax," which will tax international purchases of low value. The commitment was sealed at a lunch with the presidents of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, and the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre. Alcolumbre informed that the provisional measure will not expire and that on Tuesday (1st) a special committee will be installed to analyze the text. The Senate president also stated that the CCJ will analyze the Public Security PEC and the proposal to end the 6x1 schedule, without indicating whether the texts will go to the floor. Next week, in addition to the provisional measure, the floor must vote on projects about the creation of data centers and critical minerals.
