Woman is arrested after calling supermarket employee 'monkey' in Barra da Tijuca

A woman was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of making a racial offense against an employee at the supermarket Mercado Mundial, on Avenida Érico Veríssimo, in Barra da Tijuca, Southwest Zone of Rio. Agents from the Segurança Presente program were on routine patrol when they were called to investigate the report that the woman had used the term "monkey" to offend the employee. The team went to the establishment, identified the parties involved and heard the versions of the facts. The parties involved were referred to the 16th Police Station (Barra da Tijuca), where the woman remained arrested after analysis of the incident by the police authority.
