A Portuguese scientific expedition leaves Iceland on August 2 and arrives in Norway on September 3, with the objective of investigating the role of calcifying plankton in carbon transport in the Arctic. The research is led by Catarina Guerreiro, from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (FCUL), and aims to understand how these marine organisms contribute to the carbon cycle in Arctic waters.
