Portuguese Banking Association issues warning for fraudulent calls

The Portuguese Banking Association (APB) is warning about a new fraud attempt where criminals impersonate employees of the association itself. The scheme uses, in some cases, phone calls where the scammers try to obtain personal and financial data from victims, taking advantage of the trust associated with the institution.

A mudslide hit on Wednesday, the 26th, the border region between Nepal and Tibet, leaving people missing. The landslide, which reportedly originated from the Nepali side, left a layer of mud that in some points reaches up to 2 meters in depth. Composed of a wave of water, ice, sands and rocks, the avalanche went down through the Trishuli and Bhote Koshi rivers, reaching areas near the border between the two territories. Due to the mountainous nature of the region, much of it remains isolated, and information arrives slowly, making it difficult to assess the full extent of the damage and the number of victims.
