Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos) has been advising Jair Bolsonaro's son, Flavio Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign on statements and content that may impact voters in São Paulo. Tarcísio directly called the coordinator of the presidential campaign, Senator Rogério Marinho (PL), to warn about the negative backlash from representatives of São Paulo's agribusiness sector regarding Flavio's remarks about ethanol blending in gasoline. Last Thursday (20th), Flavio stated that he intends to revisit the mandatory 32% anhydrous ethanol blend in gasoline, if elected, which sparked an immediate reaction from sugarcane and bioenergy sector entities, which released a statement classifying the remarks as misinformation and defending the biofuel policy.
