Flood in Nepal: Bridge collapses and is carried by the force of the water during tragedy; see video

Sudden floods in Nepal caused massive destruction, including the moment when a bridge in Dhading district, north of Kathmandu, was swept away by the Trishuli River waters, as shown in videos on social media. The structure collapsed when a large amount of debris piled against it and the water level nearly reached the top. So far, 95 bodies have been recovered and hundreds of people remain missing, including tourists. Prime Minister Balendra Shah called for national unity and promised support for those affected.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. The driver, who was on vacation in the city, was arrested after fleeing from authorities and had an alcohol level of 1.29 g/l, having been charged with the crimes of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and dangerous driving.

GNR rescues weakened bird of prey

The Republican National Guard collected a weakened bird of prey that was found by a citizen in the industrial area of Gouveia.
