A tourist trap: PSP detects infractions in Lisbon Airport taxis after fraud complaints

The PSP carried out an operation at Lisbon Airport following numerous complaints from tourists regarding scams carried out by taxi drivers, including tampered meters, unnecessary route diversions, and charges exceeding the correct amount. The inspection detected 67 infractions in approximately a hundred taxis checked, revealing that passengers were being targeted by a systematic "trap".

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. The driver, who was on vacation in the city, was arrested after fleeing from authorities and had an alcohol level of 1.29 g/l, having been charged with the crimes of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and dangerous driving.

GNR rescues weakened bird of prey
