Fireworks explosion at party in Spain leaves at least 50 injured

At least 50 people were injured during a fireworks explosion during the festivities of the patron saint of São Miguel in Noáin, in the north of Spain. Three men needed to be taken to the hospital with burns, while another 47 received care at a local health center. The incident occurred around noon when a rocket launched from the town hall balcony apparently caused sparks to hit other fireworks, which were launched downward and exploded in the middle of the crowd gathered in the square.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation.
