Flood toll in Nepal rises to 55 dead and more than 400 missing

At least 55 people died and 403 remained missing after a flash flood hit several localities near the border with Tibet, in Nepal, according to an updated toll by Nepali authorities.

Driver of hit-and-run in Albufeira remanded in custody

The 35-year-old driver who ran over 16 people in the Oura area, in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after judicial interrogation. The incident occurred around 3:00 AM on Tuesday on a nightlife street, leaving 16 injured, two in serious condition, including two GNR military officers. The driver, who was on vacation in the city, was arrested after fleeing from authorities and had an alcohol level of 1.29 g/l, having been charged with the crimes of aggravated assault, driving under the influence of alcohol, and dangerous driving.

GNR rescues weakened bird of prey
