Historic crisis vs 'Rio Real': Paes and Ruas strategies for TV debut

cbn26 August 2026 at 14:10

Electoral propaganda insertions on radio and TV begin this Friday (28), marking a new phase in the race for the Guanabara Palace. Eduardo Paes (PSD) will use his airtime to argue that Rio de Janeiro is facing the worst institutional, moral, and political crisis in its history, linking the instability to the bad moment in public security. The former mayor also plans to stick to Douglas Ruas (PL) the image of the political group that governed the state for the last eight years, while investing in his own image as an experienced administrator. Meanwhile, Douglas Ruas's campaign will begin by presenting the candidate's history in an attempt to build an identity of his own against his opponent.
