A three-year-old girl was taken by criminals after a robbery on Cardoso Quintão Street, in Piedade, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, on Friday night. Businessman Miguel Machado was approached by thieves around 9:20 PM, when he was forcibly compelled to leave the vehicle. He had just picked up his daughter in Tomás Coelho, also in the North Zone.
Since everything happened so quickly, the criminals fled with the child, who was sleeping in the back seat of the car. Machado described the tense moments: "I only remember the criminals pulling my necklace and forcing me out of the car." For nearly an hour, he did not know his daughter's whereabouts.
The girl was found by police after the car was abandoned by the criminals. Authorities continue investigating the case to identify and locate those responsible for the crime.
