Fire at Furneiras in damping down phase

The fire that broke out last night in the Furneiras area, in the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, was this morning in the damping down phase, according to a source from the fire brigade contacted by DIÁRIO. The flames that consumed the area during the night were fought during the night hours by the firefighting teams on the ground. With the break of day, aerial support was mobilized to the scene of operations, with the helicopter supporting the work that was taking place on the ground. During the night, visibility conditions did not allow the use of aerial means to fight the flames. The fire also required the mobilization of emergency response resources.
