Flamengo reached the mark of 1 million fans at Maracanã in 2026, before the match against Botafogo, demonstrating the strength of their fanbase as the main asset to maximize stadium revenues. With a billion-dollar budget, the club has used this fan base to boost their financial gains significantly.
The Fla-Flu consortium, responsible for Maracanã's management, has achieved outstanding results, with an average profit margin of 75% currently. Revenue is expected to exceed R$ 70 million in 2026. In the match against Cruzeiro for the Libertadores, revenue exceeded R$ 8 million, and Flamengo kept 79% of the total, representing the club's best revenue. Earlier in the year, this rate was just over 30%.
The consortium's management underwent important changes, including cost and personnel cuts, which optimized financial returns. In addition to reducing the number of Maracanã employees, the consortium implemented facial recognition to control the number of service providers who actually work at the stadium.
