Delcy Rodríguez defends Venezuela's oil deal with Trump amid internal questioning

Delcy Rodríguez, self-proclaimed "interim president" of Venezuela's provisional government, publicly defended the oil agreement reached with the United States during a televised address on Saturday night. Her appearance occurred while several regions of the country faced a new power outage that left numerous homes without electricity.

The agreement allows the United States to obtain control of 22% of Venezuela's oil reserves, equivalent to approximately 65,000 million barrels of oil. The pact has generated internal questioning within Rodríguez's own government, which prompted her attempt to establish an official position on the matter.

According to Rodríguez's statements, the agreement guarantees that Venezuela maintains ownership and sovereignty over its natural resources. The official argued that the country is using foreign capital and technology to promote the recovery of the oil industry, which was severely affected by the international sanctions previously imposed.
