Spain will reach 50 million inhabitants in the coming months. Currently, the country already has 49.8 million people, of which 10.2 million were born abroad. In terms of world population, Spain ranks 32nd.
However, in economic terms, the country rises significantly in the global ranking. It is the 14th largest economy in the world, with a GDP approaching 1.7 trillion euros, positioning itself behind Mexico and ahead of South Korea. In terms of GDP per capita, Spain ranks 30th in a classification led by Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Ireland, Switzerland, and Iceland.
The first non-European country in this personal wealth ranking is Singapore, in sixth position. This star country has been in the spotlight recently for announcing it will grant aid of up to 47,000 euros for each child born until they turn 17, as part of a commitment to combat the decline in birth rates.
