There are 160 thousand people registered in health centers who do not have the right to a family doctor. This situation means that these users are registered in the health system but have not been assigned a specific professional for follow-up.

The numbers were released by the central health system administration, which also revealed that 1.3 million people are waiting to have a family doctor assigned. This data shows the extent of the problem in access to primary health care in Portugal.

The lack of family doctors thus affects a significant part of the Portuguese population that depends on the National Health Service for their basic health care.

Brussels guarantees it is working on the Spanish request for support from European agencies

The European Commission guaranteed it is working to respond to Spain's request for support from European agencies — Frontex, Europol and the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) — to screen the migrants who remain in Ceuta after the mass entry of more than 72,000 people in July.
