Borussia Dortmund beat Hamburg 2-0 in the Bundesliga opener, securing the first three points of the season. The German team started their domestic season with a home victory at Signal Iduna Park.
Portuguese striker Fabio Silva was part of the squad available for the match, but ended up not leaving the bench during the 90 minutes. The 21-year-old player had no minutes in the game.
Fabio Silva joined Dortmund in the last transfer window, coming from Wolverhampton, where he failed to establish himself as a regular starter. The transfer was seen as an opportunity for the player to regain confidence and competitive rhythm.
Dortmund now prepare for the season with the objective of fighting for the Bundesliga title, after finishing in fifth place in the final standings last season.
