Fall causes Pogacar to abandon the Vuelta a España

Dia de Jogo — jornal desportivo29 August 2026 at 19:51

The Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, rider of the UAE Emirates team, suffered a fall during the Vuelta a España and abandoned the competition. The abandonment happened when the cyclist was leading the general classification of the race.

Matxín Fernández, sports director of UAE Emirates, revealed details about the injury suffered by Pogacar as a result of the fall, without specifying further information about the accident itself.

Pogacar's withdrawal represents a significant blow for this year's edition of the Vuelta, considering that the rider was the main favorite for the final victory in the general classification.
