Paulo Portas was a speaker in a "class" dedicated to the theme "What is happening in the world?" as part of the PSD Summer University, which is taking place in Castelo de Vide. During the session, the former minister addressed three main topics that he considered relevant to the international and European context.
The first topic addressed was the aging of the European population, a demographic issue that has been worrying European Union institutions. Secondly, Portas spoke about misinformation on social media, a phenomenon increasingly present in public debate and political campaigns. Finally, the third topic was the migration crisis in Ceuta, the Spanish city in North Africa that has been facing significant migratory flows.
The PSD Summer University is an annual event that brings together young people interested in politics to discuss current issues. This year, the edition is taking place in Castelo de Vide, in the Portalegre district, and features the participation of various political figures from the party.
