Folklore returns to Azambuja on September 5th

Azambuja hosts on September 5th the fifth edition of the "Folklore Comes to Town" event, organized by the Rancho Folclórico Ceifeiras e Campinos de Azambuja. The program includes a dinner at the Secondary School of Azambuja at 7 PM, followed by a parade departing at 9 PM from the Parish Council of Azambuja.

At 9:30 PM, the festival takes place in the Urban Garden of Azambuja, bringing together four folk groups from different regions of the country. The host is the Rancho Folclórico Ceifeiras e Campinos de Azambuja, representing Ribatejo.

Also participating are the Rancho Paroquial de Guifões, from Douro Litoral, the Rancho Folclórico de Pedreiras, from the Leiria region, and the Rancho Folclórico de Moncarapacho, from the Algarve. The organization promises an evening dedicated to traditions, music, dance, and folk costumes, bringing together different expressions of Portuguese folklore.

Azambuja recebe, no próximo dia 5 de setembro, a quinta edição do “Folclore Vem à Vila”, uma iniciativa organizada pelo Rancho Folclórico Ceifeiras e Campinos de Azambuja, que volta a trazer à vila grupos representativos de diferentes regiões do país.

O desfile tem partida marcada para as 21h00, junto à Junta de Freguesia de Azambuja, seguindo-se, pelas 21h30, no Jardim Urbano de Azambuja, o festival que reúne quatro grupos folclóricos.

Além do anfitrião Rancho Folclórico Ceifeiras e Campinos de Azambuja, representando o Ribatejo, participam o Rancho Paroquial de Guifões, do Douro Litoral, o Rancho Folclórico de Pedreiras, da região de Leiria – Alta Estremadura, e o Rancho Folclórico de Moncarapacho, do Algarve.

A iniciativa promete uma noite dedicada às tradições, à música, à dança e aos trajes populares, reunindo em Azambuja diferentes expressões do folclore português. Antes do início do programa, a organização promove um jantar na Escola Secundária de Azambuja, pelas 19h00.
