Monchique assigns 48 new toponyms to the town and to Marmelete

Barlavento29 August 2026 at 17:38

The Monchique Municipal Council assigned 48 new toponyms to the town of Monchique and to the village of Marmelete. This measure comes within the scope of a process to correct streets that had no assigned name.

With the assignment of these new toponyms, the municipality is also preparing the revision of police numbers, that is, of the door numbers of each building or dwelling.

The need for this intervention is related to the difficulties experienced in address validation, which caused problems in emergency rescue and postal distribution.
