A group of cybersecurity researchers discovered a vulnerability that may allow unauthorized payments to be made with certain contactless bank cards even after their expiry date has passed. The flaw allows cards that should theoretically no longer work to continue processing transactions. The researchers designated these expired but still functional cards as "zombie bank cards". This vulnerability represents a significant security risk for contactless bank card users.
