A delegation from the Juntos pelo Povo (JPP) party is making an institutional visit to the island of Jersey, in the English Channel. The visit takes place at the invitation of the Madeiran community residing in that British island.
The delegation was received by Jersey's Bailiff, Sir Robert MacRae, and by the Minister of External Relations, Senator Ian Gorst. These meetings are part of the official program of the institutional visit.
The JPP delegation includes Élvio Sousa, who is a deputy to the Legislative Assembly of Madeira. The party reports that the delegation is meeting with various local entities during their stay in Jersey.
This visit strengthens the ties between the Madeiran community in Jersey and the JPP party, which represents regional interests of Madeira.
