The Regional Secretariat for Civil Protection announced that Madeira now has autonomy in the training of nurses in Manchester Telephone Triage. This training, which until now depended on external entities, can now be carried out directly in the region.
The expression used in the announcement may, however, raise different interpretations from what was actually announced, which is why it is necessary to clarify what this autonomy actually consists of.
The autonomy in question is related to the capacity to train nurses locally, without the need to rely on external training or to send professionals outside the region. This change allows Madeira to train its own nurses in this specialty.
The announcement aims to inform that the autonomous region gains competence to certify professionals in this specific area of telephone triage, while maintaining the standards and methodologies of the Manchester system.
