Slovenian rider Tadej Pogacar, who competes for the UAE Emirates team, retired from the 81st edition of the Vuelta a España cycling race on Saturday. The retirement occurred after a fall during the eighth stage of the competition.
The stage in question ran between Puçol and Xeraco. During that phase of the race, Pogacar suffered a fall that forced him to retire from the competition.
At the time of the incident, Pogacar was leading the general classification of the Vuelta. According to the report, the rider was leading decisively, demonstrating excellent performance in this edition of the Spanish race.
