The parish of Maia, located in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, in the Azores, is developing a traditional tourist route with the aim of attracting visitors to the area.
The route includes private homes as part of the tourist experience offered to visitors.
The region has within its area the oldest tea plantation in Europe, which constitutes one of the main attractions for local tourism.
The initiative comes as part of an effort to diversify the parish's tourist offering and promote Maia's traditional heritage.
