Diogo Carreira, journalist and special correspondent to Nepal, explained that the country is facing a critical situation after a devastating flood. The journalist detailed the severity of the damage caused by the natural phenomenon that hit the region.
According to Carreira, the danger after the phenomenon has not passed. There is an imminent risk of diseases that may arise as a consequence of the floods and the destruction left behind.
The journalist also warned about the threat of new lakes formed in the mountains that could burst at any moment, representing an additional danger for local populations.
Diogo Carreira stated that "there's a real fear it could happen again," expressing the concern of the affected communities about the possibility of new catastrophic episodes in the country.
