MISARELA 2026: PONTE DA FRATERNIDADE RETURNS TO UNITE BARROSO AND MINHO THROUGH CULTURE

Canal N – Notícias – Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro29 August 2026 at 10:13

The Ponte da Misarela, over the Rabagão river, once again hosted in 2026 the edition of the event "Misarela – A Ponte da Fraternidade", a multidisciplinary show that brought together culture, memory, legend, theatre, lighting and technology at one of the most emblematic monuments of the connection between Barroso and Minho.

This year's edition took place under the motto "Two banks. One story" and featured the joint participation of the municipalities of Montalegre and Vieira do Minho, symbolically reinforcing the cooperation and shared identity between the two territories that have shared this historic bridge for centuries.

Throughout the night, theatre, performance, lighting and multimedia resources gave new dimension to the stories associated with Misarela, recreating memories and elements of popular tradition in a natural setting of strong visual impact. The experience sought to go beyond simply evoking the past, bringing heritage closer to new artistic and technological languages.

The event once again valued simultaneously the tangible and intangible heritage associated with the Ponte da Misarela, reaffirming it not only as a physical bridge over the Rabagão, but as a bridge between communities, stories and territories.

Sob o mote “Duas margens.
Une-as.
