The Vila Real Territorial Command of the GNR will celebrate its 17th anniversary with a programme of initiatives open to the community, running between September and October, in Vila Pouca de Aguiar. The programme kicks off on 11 September with an exhibition dedicated to the history and activity of the Guard, which will be on display until the 16th, and also includes criminal investigation workshops focused on domestic violence and forest fires.

The highlight of the celebrations takes place on 16 September, at 10:30, at Largo Sousa e Costa, with the military ceremony that officially marks the anniversary of the Territorial Command. The festivities end on 23 October, at 21:00, with a concert by the GNR Chamber Orchestra at the Matriz Church of Vila Pouca de Aguiar.

The initiative aims not only to celebrate the 17 years of the Vila Real Territorial Command, but also over a century of the Guard's presence in the district. The objective is to promote closer ties between the institution, the local population and local entities.
