The film "The Guest", a box office and critical hit, will get a theatrical adaptation starring Marcos Veras. The actor, in partnership with producer Carlos Grun, acquired the rights to the play "Los vecinos de arriba", which inspired the feature film directed by Olivia Wilde.

The theatrical production is expected to launch in 2027, in Rio de Janeiro. Marcos Veras will star in this new version of the project.

The plot follows a couple in crisis who invite their neighbors over for dinner, but the evening doesn't go as expected. The original feature film, directed by Olivia Wilde, was well received by both audiences and critics.

Review: Lighthearted science fiction, 'Zumbido' targets the crazy world we live in

The book "Zumbido" by Brasilia-born writer Vinícius Portella blends science fiction with humor to explore a post-pandemic world where one third of the global population begins hearing an insistent low-frequency buzzing. The work follows the developments of this mysterious phenomenon from a scientific perspective, set in Brazil, and presents the buzzing as a "small migraine the size of the world" that hammers eardrums and tortures temples. Portella, also an editor and author of other novels and short stories, uses the surreal premise to make a lighthearted critique of the contemporary world.
