Ederson's return to Benfica is considered an increasingly unrealistic scenario. Despite the loss of Anatoliy Trubin's starting position and the lack of consensus around Samuel Soares, the Brazilian goalkeeper is not seen as a realistic target by the club's structure.
The main obstacle to the deal is related to the 33-year-old goalkeeper's current link with Fenerbahçe. The Brazilian international has a contract with the Turkish club until 2028 and earns a salary considered prohibitive for Benfica's financial reality.
Beyond the salary issue, there is no room to negotiate a potential departure with the Istanbul club.
