The president of Flamengo, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Bap), decided to sue Vasco's president, Pedrinho, due to recent offensive statements, requesting compensation and a public retraction. The move, however, is not unanimous in the corridors of Gávea. The ex-president of the red-and-black club, Márcio Braga, condemned the action and called Bap "mentally weak," according to information published by the blog.
The statement was made in a message in a WhatsApp group that brings together members of Flamengo's Board of Administration. Braga defended Pedrinho, saying he was "right" when he directed "all those adjectives" at Bap. The cross-maltino president called Bap a "scoundrel," "arrogant," "overbearing," "haughty," and "hypocritical."
Márcio Braga, who had six terms at Gávea, explained in contact with the blog that he believes it is a mistake for Bap to file a lawsuit against Pedrinho. He admits to having rifts with the current president of Flamengo, but states that the most important thing is to prioritize the good institutional relationship between the clubs.
