Desenrola Fies 2026: deadline for renegotiating student debt ends on Monday

extra29 August 2026 at 00:03

The deadline to join Desenrola Fies 2026 ends next Monday (the 31st), a program that establishes conditions for renegotiating student loans. Students with contracts from the Student Financing Fund (Fies) signed up to 2017 that were in the amortization phase on May 4, 2026 can join, covering both current and delinquent contracts.

To renegotiate, students with contracts administered by Banco do Brasil must use the BB app, while those with contracts from Caixa Econômica Federal must access the Fies Caixa app. In specific situations, such as longer installment plans requiring a guarantor, the student may be directed by the system to seek in-person assistance.

The conditions offered vary according to each student's situation, both for upfront payment and installment options. Renegotiation is only finalized after the down payment is made, and if this payment is not made, the proposal is cancelled.
