Brazilian country singer Eduardo, from the duo Derick & Eduardo, had a worsening of his health condition and needed to return to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The artist, whose full name is Alcemir, had been hospitalized at Hospital das Clínicas in Goiânia, Goiás, since early August, when he was diagnosed with promyelocytic leukemia.
The disease affects blood cells produced by the bone marrow and can affect white blood cells, responsible for the body's defense. Acute promyelocytic leukemia is a specific type of blood cancer that requires specialized treatment.
The country duo's team made an appeal on social media asking for prayers for the singer. "Let's create a prayer chain for Alcemir, from the duo with Derick. He had a complication and is now back in the ICU. Please pray now," the duo's profile posted on Instagram.
The duo Derick & Eduardo was formed in the city of Pires do Rio, in Goiás, where the two artists met. The singer's health condition remains delicate after returning to the ICU.
