Quercus expressed opposition to the mining concession for kaolin and clay in Peniche, considering that this exploitation represents risks for the population, habitats, and nature of the region.
According to the environmental association, the mining concession in question will affect 471 cork oaks out of a total of 662 existing in the area covered by the project.
Quercus's position is based on opposition to any type of mining or extractive exploitation that compromises the safety and well-being of local populations, as well as the preservation of natural ecosystems.
