The prefecture of São Paulo expanded telemedicine care in the city with the launch of Pronto Saúde Digital, a functionality of the e-saúdeSP app that offers free consultations with general practitioners via cell phone, available 24 hours a day, every day of the week. The service is aimed at low-severity cases.
To use the digital care, the patient must download the e-saúdeSP app, access the Pronto Saúde Digital tab, answer a questionnaire about their clinical conditions, and undergo nursing triage. After this step, a health professional contacts them to continue the care.
According to the Municipal Secretary of Health, Luiz Carlos Zamarco, the entire population registered in e-saúdeSP and linked to any health unit can use the digital urgent care, being able to choose to be attended directly from home.
The 24-hour care is part of one of the fronts of the city's Digital Health, which also seeks to offer continuous care for patients with chronic conditions.
