Spain asked the European Union for support in screening migrants arriving in the country. The Interior Minister sent a letter to the European Commission requesting agents, interpreters, and satellite surveillance to assist in the identification and screening process of migrants.
This request comes at a time of tension, with local residents organizing new protests against the presence of migrants in the region. The situation has generated concerns both domestically and in terms of relations with the European Union.
The request for support aims to strengthen the country's capacity to process asylum applications and manage migratory flows more efficiently, relying on additional resources from the European Commission to address the challenge.
