Stefano Lotumolo, an Italian traveler, survived the flash flood that hit the border between Nepal and China this Wednesday. He managed to escape with other tourists to a hillside along the river.

According to Lotumolo's account, the wave was enormous and dragged everything in its path. The moment was one of great panic for the survivors.

The Italian was among the tourists who were caught off guard by the sudden flooding in the mountainous region that borders the two countries. The escape to the hillside was the strategy that allowed him and others to escape the force of the water.
