Young seriously injured in quad bike accident

A 17-year-old youth suffered serious injuries after crashing while driving a quad bike. The accident occurred when the youth was thrown a distance of approximately 10 meters after losing control of the vehicle.

The alert for the incident was given at 4:48 PM, immediately mobilizing emergency services to the scene.

Thirteen operatives were sent to the scene, who proceeded to assist and transport the injured youth. The competent authorities are now investigating the circumstances that led to the quad bike crash.

The municipality of Leiria announced the completion of the analysis of 10,807 applications for support to recover homes damaged by storm Kristin, totaling 69.7 million euros. Seven months after the storm passed, 10,735 requests have already been processed by CCDR Centro, with 7,694 payments made and 310 approvals pending, while 2,731 applications were rejected. Of the 37.3 million already paid, 39.5 million have been validated by the local authority, which invested 813 thousand euros in the operation. Leiria accounts for 30% of national applications, with 70 municipal workers and 107 external technicians involved, 6,070 inspections carried out, and 4,378 in-person attendances completed.
