Cabo Verde was elected to the vice-presidency of the African health fund. Lúcio Miranda Fernandes's election to this position occurred during the meeting for the operationalization of the reconstituted fund structure.
The event took place on the sidelines of the 76th session of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization for Africa, being held in Addis Ababa.
The session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa runs until Friday. The African health fund represents an important initiative to strengthen health systems on the African continent.
