The International Maritime Organization issued a call for international cooperation to reopen navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important maritime routes in the world. The institution warned that the current situation represents a significant threat to global trade and the safety of seafarers.
According to the organization, since the beginning of the blockade, approximately 400 ships have been unable to safely cross through the strait. The region has been the scene of constant tensions that directly affect international maritime transport.
The agency also reported that since the beginning of the conflict, at least 70 attacks have been recorded in the area. These attacks have endangered the lives of thousands of people who depend on navigation in that region.
Unfortunately, the conflict has already resulted in fatalities. At least 19 crew members lost their lives during the incidents that occurred in the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution and the restoration of safe passage for all vessels.
