Sofia and Pedro Araújo won this Friday the mixed doubles padel competition at the Mediterranean Games of Taranto2026. The Portuguese siblings thus secured the title of champions in this discipline.

This victory represents the first medal obtained by Portugal in padel since the sport was included in the Mediterranean Games.

The conquest by Sofia and Pedro Araújo is also the 19th medal won by Portugal during the Mediterranean Games being held in the Italian city of Taranto.

With this result, Portugal adds another distinction in the medal table of the Mediterranean multi-sport competition.
