The provisional measure that regulates a R$ 30 billion credit line for purchasing cars by app drivers and taxi drivers was approved by the joint committee of the National Congress. The initiative is part of an electoral package by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a candidate for re-election, and was issued as a gesture to financially assist the category.
The MP still needs to go through votes in the plenary sessions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to have permanent validity. Its validity only ends in October, but the forecast is that Congress will be emptied in the coming weeks due to elections.
Due to the electoral calendar, the following week should be the last voting period before the first round, which will take place on October 4. The approval of the MP in the joint committee happened outside the focused effort week.
The approval also occurred after movements of approach between President Lula and the presidents of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre, and the Chamber, Hugo Motta.
