CP train bar workers start an indefinite strike on Monday. The stoppage affects the catering services available on board the Portuguese state railway company's trains.
The unions representing these workers indicate having tried throughout the last year to resolve the conflict through negotiation, without prejudice to the workers and users of CP. This attempt at agreement aimed to avoid resorting to the strike.
The decision to proceed with the stoppage comes after the failure of negotiations between the unions and CP's management. The workers are demanding better working conditions and wages, in a sector that has faced difficulties in recent years.
