The historic center of Oeiras hosts between September 4 and 13 the "Brazil Week", an event that brings together 38 establishments in the historic zone. The initiative arises in a context where Brazilian citizens in Portugal face episodes of discrimination, manifested through expressions like "go back to your country".
Eight of the participating establishments will adapt their menus to create dishes and menus inspired by Brazilian cuisine. This culinary aspect aims to celebrate Brazilian culture and promote the integration of immigrant communities in the region.
The week counts on the participation of several local entities and aims to revitalize the commerce and restaurants of the historic center of Oeiras, creating an intercultural gathering space during the period in which it takes place.
