Rain and coolness bid farewell to mainland Portugal. The final stretch of August and the first days of September will bring stable, dry, predominantly sunny weather and a gradual rise in temperatures. There are areas of the country where maximums equal to or above 35 degrees Celsius are already anticipated.
This change occurs after a quite atypical meteorological period, in which the weather was substantially cooler and rainier than normal for the dates. The change in weather conditions and temperatures will become more evident already during the weekend of August 29 and 30.
On Saturday (29) and Sunday (30), substantially drier weather is expected, as the influence of low pressures decreases and the anticyclonic region progressively gains greater influence over mainland Portugal. The thermal recovery will begin to become noticeable, especially in the Centre and South regions of the country.
