Rodrigo Pereira, a ten-year-old student, completed 4th grade on the Honor Roll at Escola Básica do Mosteiro, in Odivelas, achieving excellent academic results. The boy's mother, aware of the importance of securing a school place in a timely manner, enrolled him in 5th grade on the very first day of registrations.
When completing the enrollment, Rodrigo's mother filled in all five available school options on the application form, demonstrating flexibility and willingness to accept different educational establishments in the region.
Despite having followed all procedures correctly and on time, the family was surprised with a negative result. Rodrigo received a "no placement" notification, meaning none of the chosen schools had availability to accept him.
The situation places the family in a delicate position, with just a few days left before the start of the school year, without the boy having an assigned school to continue his studies in 5th grade.
