The Directorate-General for Education Statistics carried out a study comparing the grades of secondary school students in private and public schools in Portugal.
The study concluded that grades are higher in private schools than in public schools. 38 private schools were identified where more than a quarter of students received grades of 19 and 20 in all subjects.
In public education, only three schools present similar results, with 17% of students achieving these high grades.
The data reveal a significant disparity between the academic results of the private and public sectors in Portuguese secondary education.
