The new School Centre of Avis is in the final phase of construction and should start receiving students in September, coinciding with the start of the 2026/2027 school year. The transfer of students from the School Grouping of Avis will be done in stages, starting with Pre-School and 1st Cycle at the beginning of the school year, and integrating students from the 2nd and 3rd Cycles at the start of the second term.
The new facility was built from scratch on the space previously occupied by E.B. 2,3 Mestre de Avis, replacing a building that showed signs of degradation and no longer met the safety, comfort and learning needs of the school community.
The project represents a total investment of approximately 8.93 million euros, with 5.83 million euros for the construction of the new school campus and 3.1 million euros for complementary requalification and modernization interventions, with co-funding through the ERDF.
With the opening of the new School Centre, Avis now has an educational space designed to provide better conditions of safety, comfort and accessibility, contributing to the improvement of pedagogical quality and the strengthening of educational provision in the municipality.
O novo Centro Escolar de Avis deverá começar a receber alunos já em setembro, coincidindo com o arranque do ano letivo 2026/2027. A construção encontra-se na fase final, estando prevista uma entrada em funcionamento gradual do novo espaço educativo.
A mudança dos alunos do Agrupamento de Escolas de Avis será feita por etapas. No início do ano letivo, o novo centro deverá receber as crianças do Pré-Escolar e os alunos do 1.º Ciclo. A integração dos estudantes do 2.º e 3.º Ciclos está prevista para o início do segundo período, permitindo uma adaptação progressiva às novas instalações.
Construído de raiz no espaço anteriormente ocupado pela E.B. 2,3 Mestre de Avis, o novo equipamento substitui um edifício que apresentava sinais de degradação e já não respondia às necessidades de segurança, conforto e aprendizagem da comunidade escolar.
O projeto representa um investimento global de cerca de 8,93 milhões de euros. A construção do novo campus escolar tem um valor base de 5,83 milhões de euros, ao qual se somam 3,1 milhões destinados a intervenções complementares de requalificação e modernização, com cofinanciamento através do FEDER.
Com a entrada em funcionamento do novo Centro Escolar, Avis passa a dispor de um espaço educativo concebido para proporcionar melhores condições de segurança, conforto e acessibilidade, bem como um ambiente mais moderno e inclusivo.
A nova infraestrutura pretende ainda contribuir para a melhoria da qualidade pedagógica e para o reforço da oferta educativa no concelho, criando melhores condições para alunos, professores e restante comunidade escolar.
