Secondary education: grades are higher in private than in public schools

A report by the Directorate-General for Education Statistics reveals that private schools in Portugal show significantly higher academic results than public schools in secondary education. 38 private schools were identified where more than a quarter of students received grades of 19 and 20 in all subjects, while in the public sector only three schools achieved comparable results, with 17% of students achieving these grades.
